Strong Customer Authentication

On 14 September 2019, as part of the second Payment Services Directive, new requirements for authenticating online payments will be introduced in Europe: Strong Customer Authentication. Matt Laker, the CEO of Tribal Mastermind announced it as follows:


Generally speaking it doesn't change much to any of you. It mainly means that European customers will be going through 3D secure more often. Processors like PayPal should be doing it automatically. That's in a nutshell but you should be aware of what it is and read the regulation.
